Gauteng departments and entities given a thumbs up by the Auditor General
The vProvincial Government (GPG) will on Wednesday, 30 August 2023 hold an award ceremony to recognise the improved audit performance of GPG departments and agencies in the 2022/2023 financial year. The results have shown a marked improvement in the financial management of public funds and elimination of wasteful expenditure.
All Gauteng departments and entities received unqualified audits, an indication that the province continues to demonstrate a culture of transparency and public accountability by implementing credible financial controls. A clean, transparent,
and service-oriented administration is an apex priority for the Gauteng Provincial Government.
The improvement in the audit outcomes is a significant milestone and a testament that the province is making visible progress in strengthening financial management to eliminate wasteful and unlawful usage of public funds.
