Gauteng Department of Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs and Human Settlements MEC Jacob Mamabolo will on Monday 24 August 2015, convene the Gauteng Water and Sanitation Forum to discuss strike at Rand Water and to find ways of finding ways to minimise impact on Gauteng residents.
This forum was launched by Premier David Makhura on 2 February 2015 to be for responsible for tackling water and sanitation challenges in the province, such as the current strike at Rand Water. The forum is composed, amongst others, by Human Settlements and Infrastructure MMCs from all GP municipalities, Rand Water and Eskom.
A media briefing will be held afterwards to address people of Gauteng. MEC Mamabolo will also be joined by Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi who will address sanitation in schools.
