A future health service for the Western Cape 2030

Western Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, will host a press conference on Healthcare 2030 – the strategic framework of a re-imagined future health service by 2030.

At the conference, Minister Botha will set out the vision and strategy of Western Cape Government Health for the next 16 years. The document comprises a strategic vision and comprehensive service plan.

The revised strategic framework is the third wave of major health service planning since 1994 in the province and is based on an assessment of achievements since the adoption of Healthcare 2010, a comprehensive service plan adopted in 2004.

While there is a common thread that runs across all three waves, there are important lessons learnt that are built into each subsequent phase.

The distinguishing feature of 2030 and the heart of the vision is access to patient-centred care.
