Free State Treasury commemorates International Fraud Awareness Week, 9 Nov

International Fraud Awareness Week

In a continued effort to prevent and detect fraudulent activities in both Provincial Government and Private Sector, Provincial Treasury has joined resources with Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Price WaterHouse Coopers, Standard Bank and University of the Free State to stimulated and promote fraud environment which will in turn minimize the redirection of scare financial resources to investigate possible fraud transaction in public sector.

In endeavor to realise the above objective, the indicated stakeholders will be hosting a conference during the week (12-18/11/2017) identified by ACFE to promote and education the world on the impact of fraud in business and government. Under the theme “Walk the talk on Fraud Prevention”, the partners aims to promote alertness on the developments and current trends which should be considered when possible fraud indicators are realised.

Different initiatives are been implemented by Provincial Government to measure effective controls are in place to prevent fraud of which this indicatives are detective in nature to ensure that appropriate actions are implemented for those who perpetuate fraudulent activities in government.
