Department to host Provincial Youth Camp
The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will host the 2017 edition of the Provincial Youth Camp. The purpose of this camp is to contribute towards an active young citizenry which is mindful of its situation and environment, mindful of its challenges and determined to overcome them, inspired by their sense of patriotism, discipline and national identity whilst still proud of their youth and unique talents.
The Youth Camp aims to reach young people from the different demographics in the following categories:
- Former inmates
- Survivors of sexual and drug abuse
- Youth from farm dwellings
- Activists from NGOs
The youth camp will be hosted as follows:
Date: 01 - 07 October 2017
Time: 18:00 AM – 21:00 PM (DAILY)
Venue: Black Mountain, Thaba Nchu
“Young people are the locomotive in our society and are an important part of our citizenry as a province. Our society also needs young people who are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to move the Free State Province forward,” said MEC Mathabo Leeto.
