Free State Small Business Development hosts Agro-Processing Development Fund programme, 28 Jun

Agro-Processing takes centre stage

Exciting times are here as the best and promising businesses are afforded a chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of stakeholders. The Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in collaboration with the Central University of Technology and LandBank will host the Agro-Processing Development Fund programme on the 28 June 2018.

The programme will include a pitching session during the day and a gala dinner in the evening to launch the programme and to award the winners of the pitching session. 12 promising entrepreneurs in the Agro-Processing sector will pitch their ideas to a panel of five judges. Selected winners will be supported by procurement of processing equipment and prizes will be as follows:

  • 1st price- R 450 000
  • 2nd price- R 350 000
  • 3rd price- R 200 000
     

The ultimate purpose of the fund is to achieve the following:

  • Broadening participation in the agro-processing sector;
  • Increased production capacity;
  • Employment creation;
  • Modernised machinery and equipment;
