Free State Province Gender conference

In celebrating twenty years of democracy for women empowerment and gender equality, The Free State Provincial Government will host its Gender Conference on the 26th August 2014 at Phillip Sanders under the theme “Re-creating the Workforce for the Future We Want”.

The conference seeks to address progress made in compliance to international practices, national and provincial obligations regarding gender equality and gender mainstreaming in the public service. The conference will map the way forward for gender mainstreaming within Free State Provincial Government as well as deepen the understanding and create a common understanding of gender challenges within Free State Provincial Government.

The province is honouring the commitment that President Zuma made in his State of the Nation Address this year, to uplift more women into decision making roles. It is pleasing to note that improving the status of women remains a critical priority for government.

Details of the Conference are as follows:
Date: 26 August 2014
Venue: Phillip Sanders
Time: 08h00 – 16h00
