Free State Legislature hosts a Women’s Dialogue 2015
Women’s day in South Africa represents an affirmation of the contributions that women have made in the struggle against colonial and apartheid oppression historically. It is a recognition and acceptance by the nation that the country’s attainment of political freedom and democracy in 1994 was also as a result of heroic struggles waged by women.
In recognition of this rich history of struggle by women in South Africa, the Speaker of the Free State Legislature, Hon. Mamiki Qabathe has invited 500 women from 18 organisations from all walks of life to the Free State Legislature 2015 Women’s Dialogue.
Discussions on women experiences will be led by leading women in the Judiciary, Human Rights Commission, Commission for Gender Equality, Police Services, Correctional Services, Disability, Churches, Business, Sports, Arts and Culture, Media, Academic, Psychologists and Non-Governmental Organisations.
