Overview of the B-BBEE Amendment Act workshop
The Department of Trade and Industry together with the department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in the Free State will be conducting workshops from the 28 to 29 July 2015, which are aimed at sharing information regarding the current Amendments of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act, and the revised Codes of Good Practice.
The workshop will be opened per-invite to stakeholders, organised business, and private companies. The following topics will be covered: Overview of B-BBEE Amendment Act, Objectives of the Amendment Act (what the act seeks to achieve), Generic Codes of Good Practice, Legal compliance, the role of Verification Agencies, and all the matters relating to the workshop including questions, responses and presentations must be done within the prescribed time.
Workshops will cover all the sectors of economy in the Free State to form part of the discussions. They will be staged in two districts of the Free State namely, Mangaung and Lejweleputswa District (Matjhabeng municipality) in order to ensure accessibility. The districts that are not covered shall be integrated within the nearest districts, for instance, Mangaung will cover Xhariep and Lejweleputswa will cover Fezile Dabi.
