Free State Economic participates in second National Imbizo Focus Week, 11 Apr

The Free State Provincial Government will participate in the second National Imbizo Focus Week which has been taking place from 07 to 12 April 2015. Following this year’s State of the Nation Address and the implementation of the first five-year building block of the National Development Plan (NDP) namely the 2014-2019 Medium-Term Strategic Framework (MTSF), the Imbizo will be taking place under the Government’s five year theme: “Together we move South Africa forward”

The Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESBD) will be showcasing their active participation in the Imbizo through their Micro Enterprise Support Programme (MESP) rollout tomorrow, Saturday 11April 2015 at Rantsane Primary School in Makwane.

MEC Mosebenzi Zwane will hand over equipment worth the value of R1.9 million to 13 SMMEs from the Thabo Mofutsanyane District. Amongst other things that will be handed over will range from an 8 ton truck to a fridge and a mobile kitchen.

The Imbizo Focus Week will provide senior government officials with the opportunity to assess progress made on the government priority programmes. It will also serve as an unmediated communication platform for the concerned communities to interact with elected public representatives.

Through these interactions, the communities will get a better understanding of the programmes mentioned in the SoNA and the NDP which seeks to promote multi-sectoral collaboration.
