Portfolio Committee on Finance of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature will host a stakeholder engagement workshop entitled “Enhancing financial management through inclusive budgeting”. The workshop will be held at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre in Boksburg.
The purpose of the workshop is to engage with various stakeholders on the budget process to equip them with the necessary knowledge of making inputs in to the budget system of the government.
Presentations will be made by the Financial and Fiscal Commission, National and Provincial Treasury on the following issues:
- Recommendations to the Division of Revenue Bills
- Purpose of the Amendment to Money Bills Procedures and Related Matters Act and Medium Term Budget Policy Statement and the Fiscal Policy
- Provincial budget cycle and public participation at a provincial level
The workshop will be attended by the various stakeholders from NGOs, business community and the general public.
