The Portfolio Committee on Environmental Affairs will, on 27 August 2014, brief the media on environmental matters such as rhino-poaching, climate change and sustainable development goals. The briefing happens in the same week the Committee is scheduled to hold public hearings on the same topics in KwaZulu-Natal. The committee will also hold Public Hearings in Mpumalanga and North West.
The three topical matters threaten not only the future and sustainability of the environment, but food security. The Committee Chairperson, Jackson Mthembu, will lead the briefing.
