In its quest to quell the ramifications of joblessness in the country, the Department of Employment and Labour in the Free State will be hosting a Provincial Jobs Fair. Held under the theme, “the world of work in the 4th Industrial Revolution”, this event will see multitudes of unemployed graduates descending to the capital of the province to attend this august occasion. This Jobs Fair will be held as follows;
Date: 20 November 2019
Time: 10h00 – 14h00
Venue: Musicon 41, 1st Avenue Westdene, Bloemfontein
This event is aimed at converging work seekers/unemployed graduates to a central place wherein vital information on the services of the department will be shared. Amongst others, the purpose of this event is to achieve the following key deliverables;
- To market career opportunities to graduates;
- To market Public Employment Services to tertiary institutions, public and private sector organizations, municipalities and employers;
- To stimulate engagement on the relevance of the 4th Industrial Revolution and its impact to the job market;
- To provide career guidance to unemployed graduates identified through the department’s work seeker database; and
- To promote engagement between graduates and relevant employers
To give further impetus to the goals and objectives of this occasion, a total of 25 employers/stakeholders have been invited to exhibit their service suites to attendees. To this end, no less than 200 graduates have also been invited to come and gain knowledge and insight on the services of individual employers invited.
“We are very worried as the province and the country as a whole of the stubbornness of this unemployment rate. Thus we are also putting our shoulders on the wheels of change to try and remediate this unbecoming situation. With concerted and collective efforts from all role players, we will ultimately triumph in bringing the unemployment rate to acceptable levels,” said Emily Maneli, Head of the Department of Employment and Labour in Free State.
Members of the media are invited.
