The Department of Employment and Labour is excited to announce the upcoming Employment Standards Conference, hosted by the Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) branch.
This event is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, 25 to 27 November 2025, at the Olive Convention Centre, North Beach, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
The theme of the session, “Compliance leads to South Africa’s Prosperity & Development”, encourages maximum compliance with employment and labour laws.
The purpose of the conference is to discuss the importance of the labour inspectors’ role in inspections, with the aim of protecting vulnerable workers in different sectors of the South African labour market.
The conference promises to be an enlightening platform for all participants in the labour market, offering an opportunity to engage in constructive dialogues, exchange ideas, and explore strategies to enhance compliance and maintain equality of inspections.
It is an occasion to not only hear from leadership but also to contribute to the transformation of inspections and the South African labour market.
The conference will also allow for discussions to collectively navigate the challenges and opportunities in achieving a fair, equitable, and compliant labour market in South Africa.
