Employment and Labour on Public Service Month service delivery campaign in the Namakwa and Pixley Ka Seme Districts, 16 – 19 September 2019
The Department of Employment and Labour, Northern Cape will be unleashing a service delivery campaign reaching out to unemployed youth, work seekers, ex-mineworkers (registration of unclaimed UIF benefits for ex-mineworkers who left employment in the mines before 01 April 2002) and workers in and around Hantam and Kareeberg Local Municipalities, from 16 – 19 September 2019.
This Public Service Month campaign will start in Loriesfontein (16/09/2019), Calvinia (17/09/2019), Vanwyksvlei (18/09/2019) and end in Carnarvon (19/09/2019). It will give clients and stakeholders an opportunity to meet with the Department and access services of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and Compensation Fund (CF). This year’s Public Month Service is steered under the theme of “Khawuleza, Taking services to the people”
“As such, the Department of Employment and Labour together with its entities will be using this Public Service Month to take services to the people and address service delivery issues with our clients in far-flung areas of our vast Province”. Said Mr Zolile Albanie (Chief Director: Provincial Operations)
The Department of Employment and Labour will be using the event for service delivery intervention accompanied by Exhibitions and Advocacy sessions, therefore workers will be given an opportunity to make enquiries and apply for benefits from UIF and CF in all areas visited. The Public Employment Services team will also be at hand to assist work seekers with employment opportunities by capturing their CVs on the Employment Service of South Africa (ESSA) database.
