The Department of Employment and Labour, Mpumalanga Province through the Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) will be intensifying its blitz again by embarking on a week-long (18 - 22 September to 15) inspections in Malelane.
Vuyo Dyalvani, the Specialist: Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) said: “The inspections will be targeting employers in the Agriculture, Manufacturing, Wholesale & Retail, Community, Forestry, and Hospitality sectors”.
She said the objective of the inspections is to gauge the level of compliance in all relevant employment laws including the latest amendments to the National Minimum Wage which started on 1st March 2023.
“In addition, the mission will examine through inspections, the application of national labour standards as well as BCEA compliance in workplaces. The inspection project will concentrate optimally on companies that are located at Marloth Park in Malelane”, she said.
