Due to gross lack of career information in certain parts of the province, the Eastern Cape Department of Transport will conduct a transport career expo for Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners at Bensillive College in Sterkspruit on 8 April 2014 at 9h00.
The focus of the career expo is on job opportunities, skills development opportunities and business opportunities within the transport sector. About 11 schools from in and around Joe Gqabi District are expected to benefit from this exercise.
This expo will afford the learners an opportunity to directly engage with institutions such as Transport Education Training Authority (TETA), Transnet, Road Accident Fund, South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), Metrorail, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) as well as different institution of high learning.
Different career paths presentations will be presented to the learners and they will also be informed on how to access those career opportunities.
