Eastern Cape Safety and Liaison intensifies fight against crime in Dongwe Community Hall, 13 Feb

The Department of Safety and Liaison is firm to intensify the Fight against Crime in the Eastern Cape Province

The Department of Safety and Liaison as part of the February Safety Month Programme has become resolute to intensify the fight against crime, in the Eastern Cape Province. In this regard, the Chris Hani District Office of the Department of Safety and Liaison, with other key stakeholders will host a Youth Empowerment Dialogue and School Debate, in an effort to increase safety awareness among young people, in respect of widespread criminal activities in the area.

The Whittlesea and Sada areas, are hard hit by proliferating criminal activities such as drugs and substance abuse, which, have given birth to rival groups of gangsters which is a concern to the provincial government. In many instances, the activities of rival groups of gangsters have resulted in criminal activities, such as assaults, murders, theft, and many people have since left the area in fear of being targets.

Kindly note that the Premier of the Eastern Cape Province, Honourable Phumulo Masualle will grace the programme together with MEC Weziwe Tikana and a host of other high profile figures.
