The Department of Safety and Liaison is resolute to double its efforts to deal with Gender Based Violence, head on. This is against the backdrop that, in Ugie at Joe Gqabi District Municipality, the number of reported cases on Gender Based Violence, had sent shockwaves throughout the province.
In this regard, the Department of Safety and Liaison with other key stakeholders such as the Municipality, Commission on Gender Equality, Office of the Premier, South African Police Service and Community Safety Forum, will host a robust panel discussion in order to find suitable solutions to contributory factors leading to Gender Based Violence in the area. The programme will be braced by the presence of the Head of Department of Safety and Liaison, Ms. N Mosehana.
