The Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature will hold Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) public hearings this week on Today, 30 June 2015 and Tomorrow, 2 July 2015.
Items to be discussed in these hearings include provincial department and public entities’ programme of action for 2015/16 financial year and progress on the implementation of House resolutions. The constitution gives the Legislature powers to exercise oversight and make departments and public entities account.
