A destitute family who have been living in a shack for 15 years will get a newly built home from the Eastern Cape government tomorrow.
MEC Helen Sauls-August will hand over a house to Nditha family parents of nine year old twins were living in a shack for over 15 years. Their health conditions were beginning to deteriorate due to their living conditions. They used to stay in a small raining shack.
The Nditha family home has been built along other five houses of destitute and vulnerable families in and around the Nkonkobe Municipality. The house has been built in line with the new norms and standards which include fencing, tiling, and electrification.
The plight of the family was brought to the attention of the department by the Methodist Society of the University in Fort Hare.
