Deputy President Motlanthe and Minister Motshekga to oversee Day One of Schooling 2013

The 2013 School academic year is now upon us. On 09 January 2013 millions of learners will begin with the first schooling day of the year. To mark the opening of schools Deputy President, Honourable Kgalema Motlanthe, accompanied by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga, will be visiting schools in Gauteng, while the Deputy Minister Enver Surty will be visiting schools in the North West and Free State Provinces.

The visits, are aimed at giving support to schools that have still not reached their maximum potential in terms of performance, and to provide them with the necessary support in order to ensure improvement in 2013 and beyond.
