Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver a keynote address at the memorial service of two struggle icons Moses Kotane and John Beaver Marx tomorrow, Friday 6 March 2015 at the Johannesburg City Hall in Gauteng province.
Due to the historic strong bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between the governments and people of South Africa and of the Russian Federation the mortal remains of the two struggle icons were returned to South Africa last week at a ceremony addressed by President Jacob Zuma.
The memorial service ceremony will also be addressed by leaders from the African National Congress (ANC), South African Communist Party (SACP), Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) and The South African National Civic Organization (SANCO).
These are struggle icons who contributed to the liberation of South Africa and they succumbed to stroke and heart attack respectively while in exile and were buried in the Russian Federation.
