Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi to handover Rainwater Harvesting Tanks to 15 schools in Alexandra, Johannesburg

The Deputy Minister Basic Education Mr Enver Surty will on Thursday, 27 March 2014 join Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi, Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs to officially handover Rainwater Harvesting Tanks to 15 schools in Alexandra. 

Rand Water Foundation funded the Rainwater Harvesting Tanks initiative aimed at School Water Supply, Demand Management and Households Poverty Eradication through: Installation of rain water harvesting equipment in 15 participating schools; Encouraging schools and nearby communities to grow food gardens for households’ poverty eradication and food security, and conducting school and community awareness on using water wisely.

The Deputy Minister is expected to cut the ribbon at both Ikage Primary School and Kwa-Bhekilanga High School at 10h00.
