Deputy Minister in the Presidency Thembi Siweya to visit Victor Khanye driver’s licence testing centre for monitoring
The Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Ms Thembi Siweya, MP, will visit the Victor Khanye Driver’s Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) in Delmas, Mpumalanga on 8 August 2019.
The Deputy Minister’s visit is part of the Frontline Service Delivery Monitoring Programme (FSDM) of the Department of planning Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME). The FSDM Programme is a key monitoring mechanism that provides government with relevant, reliable information on the quality of service delivery. The programme seeks to instill a culture of monitoring and accountability and speedy resolution of service delivery challenges through citizen engagement.
The DLTC, which serves an estimated population of 75 452 offers services such as the renewals of driver's license cards, registration and licensing of motor vehicles and related services. The officials at the DPME had visited the DLTC during the 2017/18 financial year, identified challenges and together with management developed a service delivery improvement plan.
The Deputy Minister’s visit is an opportunity to trace progress in the implementation of the improvement plan.
