Deputy Minister Makwetla to hand over wheelchairs assembled by inmates to the community of Amahlathi Local Municipality, Keiskammahoek
Justice and Correctional Services Deputy Minister Thabang Makwetla will on Wednesday, 10 April 2019, visit Keiskammahoek where he will hand over a total of 40 wheelchairs to people living with disabilities. The wheelchairs are assembled by inmates, as part of their rehabilitation and reintegration efforts towards repairing the harm caused against society.
These wheelchairs will ensure that physical disability cannot and should not be a permanent obstacle to the progress and development of our communities. Deputy Minister Makwetla will further elaborate on a journey of rehabilitation engineered to ensure that no inmate shall languish in a correctional facility without any tangible developmental skill.
