Deputy Minister Surty extends Ministerial oversight visits to Phuthaditjaba

Following a successful visit to Madikwe in the North West province, the Deputy Minister of Basic Education Enver Surty will along with Free State MEC Tate Makgoe visit the Sehlajaneng Village in Thabo Mofutsanyane District of Phuthaditjaba in the Free State on Friday, 26 April 2013.

This is a continuation of the Department of Basic Education’s provincial oversight. The Deputy Minister’s visit forms part of an programme that officially kicked off 2013 as the year of inclusive education and the visits are aimed at aligning the department’s Action Plan 2014 Towards Schooling in 2025 with the National Development Plan (NDP) and to ensure full public participation and making education a ‘’societal issue’’.

The Deputy Minister will address the SMT (Senior Management Team) at each school along with the Literacy and Numeracy teachers at each school.

The Deputy Minister will visit three schools in the Thabo Mofutsanyane District.
