Towards an e-skilled nation - Deputy Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams to conclude the Internet Service Provider National Training for Youth in Langa, Western Cape
On Thursday, 29 March 2018, the Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, will officially conclude the Internet Service Provider (ISP) national training programme, which the department conducted in collaboration with the .ZA Domain Name Authority (.ZADNA).
The training programme sought to empower young entrepreneurs, unemployed graduates, ICT students and youth in conflict with the law on developing capacity and local expertise in aspects of operating as an ISP, especially in domain name reselling.
The programme, which is a flagship project under the department’s ICT Economic Participation for Youth, has benefitted over 140 young people across all nine provinces; including 20 from the Boksburg and Waterval Correctional Centres.
The Deputy Minister will utilise this engagement to further conduct a post-SoNA information seminar.
Conducted on the heels of the President’s State of the Nation Address, post-SoNA information seminars enable government to engage with South Africans in every corner of the country and reflect on service delivery, plans, milestones and challenges faced by communities.
Members of the media are hereby invited to the events, which will unfold as follows:
