Official launch event of the Ex-Mine Workers Project in the North West Province
North West MEC for Health Madoda Sambatha together with Deputy Minister for the National Department of Health Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo will on Thursday, 18 August 2022 launch the provincial Ex- Mine worker’s project at the West Vaal Hospital under the theme “The Restoration of Social Justice and the Dignity of Ex-mineworkers in the North West Province”.
The project targets an estimated one hundred and seventy thousand (170 000) former mine workers and their beneficiaries in the province and the project seeks to enable ex-mineworkers and their beneficiaries to access unpaid benefits including compensation for occupational diseases, injuries and other unpaid social protection benefits.

A project team is currently in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality where they are assisting ex-mine workers from the area with applications for their unpaid benefits. The project roll out to the Bojanala, Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and Ngaka Modiri Molema Districts will take place between 21 August and 4 October 2022.
