Deputy Minister Mabudafhasi to launch the R163 million Bulk Water Infrastructure Project in Hertzogville, Free State
Mme Rejoice Mabudafhasi, MP, the Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs will launch the R163 million Bulk Water Infrastructure project on Friday, 14 March 2014, in Hertzogville, Tokologo Local Municipality, Free State.
The Premier of Free State Province, Ntate Ace Magashule will join the Deputy Minister at the launch. The Christiana/Hertzogville Bulk Water Infrastructure project forms part of the Water Month activities under the theme: “Celebrating 20 years of water delivery for social and economic development”.
This project comprises a number of components such as the abstraction work near Christiana, along the Vaal River; pump station and raw water storage dam near Christiana, along Vaal River; raw water pipeline, 300 mm diameter, about 42 km long, parallel to R708 Road; water treatment plant, capacity of 3.0 Ml/d, raw water storage dam at the water treatment plant (WTP); clear water storage reservoir at the WTP; raw water pump stations at Christiana; clear water pump stations at Hertzogville. This scheme will benefit more than 10 000 community members in Hertzogville.
