Deputy Minister Rejoice Mabudafhasi launches Mzansi Libraries online project at Mapoteng Public Library, 26 Mar

Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi, MP, Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, together with the MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture in the Northern Cape Mr L Motlhaping will launch the Mzansi Libraries Online Pilot Project at Mapoteng Public Library, Gamagara Local Municipality on, Thursday 26 March 2015.

In October 2013, the Department of Arts and Culture received R32m grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through its Global Libraries Programme. The Mzansi Library Online Pilot Project will deploy IT equipment such as computers, tablets, printers, scanners and games at public libraries, particularly in rural areas.

Currently three public libraries from each province participate in the project. A total of 20 computers, 10 tablets, 1x printer, 1 scanner and gaming sets will be handed over to Mapoteng Public Library.
