Deputy Minister Reginah Mhaule leads inter-departmental campaign in KwaMashu, 31 Aug

Basic Education Deputy Minister to lead Inter- Departmental Campaign on the Prevention of Violence, Bullying, Gender, Based Violence, Learner Pregnancy, Drugs and Substance Abuse in KZN

The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Dr Reginah Mhaule will tomorrow, Thursday 31 August lead the KZN leg of the Inter-Departmental Campaign on the Prevention of Violence, Bullying, Gender Based Violence, Learner Pregnancy as well as Drug and Substance Abuse in schools. The event is scheduled to take place at the KwaMashu Christian Centre in KwaMashu, outside Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

The proceedings of the day will be directed by KZN Education MEC Mbali Frazer.

The high level delegation that will descend on the Christian Centre bringing the message of safer school communities will include:

  • His Majesty the King Misuzulu KaZwelithini,
  • KZN Premier Hon. Nomusa Dube-Ncube
  • Deputy  Ministers  of  Justice  and  Correctional  Services,  Nkosi  Phatekile Holomisa
  • Deputy Minister of Health Dr Sibongiseni Dlomo as well as
  • Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza from Home Affairs.

This Inter-Departmental Campaign is premised on the prevention of Violence, and social ills in schools and its adjacent communities and calls on all communities and their leaders from across the spectrum to join hands to create safer learning environments across the country.

The day’s activity will also include a Jamboree and various service offerings from all partner departments including Home Affairs, Social Development, career guidance and various health services.
