The Department of Basic Education led by Deputy Minister Dr Reginah Mhaule will tomorrow Thursday, 26 October 2023 in partnership with DOVE host a commemorative event to mark the International Month of the Girl Child.
Commemorated annually on 11 October, the day offers an opportunity to, through a sustainable partnership to fully equip young people, in particular girls, with localised educational tools that will help them to ultimately realise their full potential. In so doing, raising the next generation of strong, confident young people.
Having begun the week with build-up activities which included self-esteem workshops for learners in the less affluent communities of Stellenbosch, the week will culminate with the Ministerial commemoration on the 26th bringing together the Ministry, Partners, Young People and Social Media influencers.
