Presidency Deputy Minister, Pinky Kekana to lead a hybrid roundtable discussion on monitoring and evaluation

The Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Ms Pinky Kekana, will lead a roundtable discussion on the importance of monitoring and evaluation at Upington, Northern Cape, 19 October 2022.

This roundtable discussion targets monitoring and evaluation functionaries in the three spheres of government under the theme: Accelerating District Development – Leaving no one Behind through Integrated Planning, Monitoring and Evaluations. 

The roundtable discussion forms part of the DPME’s pre-presidential imbizo programmes, which seeks to assess service delivery challenges, implementation of the DDM One Plan, and progress in the implementation of the socio-economic catalytic projects in this area.

The outcomes of the roundtable discussion include the following:

  • Clarity on roles and responsibilities of each key stakeholder in the District One Plan;
  • To strengthen integration - horizontally and vertically;
  • Identify challenges and solutions in the implementation of the One Plans
  • Strengthening the coordination role and capacities at District levels; 
  • Strengthening and alignment of monitoring and evaluation impact at district and local level;
  • Maximising impact through aligning resources and avoiding duplication;

Subsequent to the dialogue, the Deputy Minister and a team of monitors will visit the Upington Industrial Park to assess progress in its implementation.
