Back to school stationary hand over in Diepsloot
As schools reopen for the second of the school term, the Deputy Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluations in the Presidency Ms. Pinky Kekana in partnership with the Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) will on the 12th of April 2023 join hands to deliver much-needed school stationery to learners in Diepsloot.
The GMA management heeded the call of help by non-profit organisation, Afrika Tikkun, to donate stationery to the Wings of Life Centre in Diepsloot. The Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana will be attending the handover ceremony and hand over the much-needed stationary.
Stationery is an essential requirement for learning and not all parents can afford these learning tools. Part of the stationary that will be donated includes 900 scientific calculators, 900 math’s sets, 1800 exercise books and the Gautrain children’s book on climate change, Yoliswa’s Mighty Mission.
Afrika Tikkun supports underprivileged children and youth through cradle-to-career developmental programmes. It is a leading non-profit organisation in education, skills development, and socio-economic upliftment. The GMA first partnered with Afrika Tikkun in 2017 in support of the NGO’s cradle-to-career programme. In October 2022, GMA started supporting the stationery donation drive when GMA staff donated stationery as part of the Employee Social Investment Programme.
