Deputy Minister of Labour Nkosi Phathekile Holomisa visits KwaZulu-Natal province
The Deputy Minister of Labour, Nkosi Phathekile Holomisa will visit the province of KwaZulu-Natal from Monday the 6th of October, until the Tuesday the 7th of October, 2014.
As part of his portfolio, the Deputy Minister is to champion the work of the provinces and the labour centres across as sites of delivery. To this end Nkosi Holomisa is undertaking nationwide provincial visits to interact with the management and staff in provinces and labour centres.
The overall objective is to establish the kind of challenges faced by provinces that may hinder service delivery as well as interact with the members of the public on the walkabout in the labour centres. He has already been to Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
The Deputy Minister occupies this portfolio as the first in the history of the department, as the department of labour was led only by a Minister in the last 20 years. Nkosi Holomisa on Monday the 6th of October will visit the Ulundi labour centre where he will engage the management and also conduct a walkabout to gauge for himself the kind of service being provided to the public.
The Deputy Minister here wants to observe the kind of service the department provides in remote rural areas where the services of government are sorely needed. On Tuesday he will meet management and staff of the provincial office and then proceed to the Durban Labour Centre, the biggest in the country currently. He will round up his tour at the Stanger Labour Centre.
