Deputy Minister Phathekile Holomisa briefs media on status of Labour Centre in Rustenburg , 2 Dec

The Deputy Minister of Labour to meet with staff as well as COSATU leadership in the North West Province

The Deputy Minister (DM) of the Department of Labour, Inkosi Phathekile Holomisa will this week take a two-day tour to meet with staff of the Department of Labour in the platinum province in an attempt to get to know challenges they are facing in their attempt to discharge government mandate. His visit, which starts today and ends tomorrow (December 2) will give the DM and his entourage an opportunity to discuss amongst others, issues of space in the Labour Centres, shelter for clients who queue in the sun as well as security for staff in some of the Labour Centres.

Inkosi Holomisa will then take time to touch base with COSATU leadership to address issues that may be of critical importance to them as far as the Department of Labour is concerned.

Amongst others the relationship between COSATU and the Department’s operations may be topical with a view to improving inspection of workplaces and strengthening enforcement of labour legislation.
