Deputy Minister Lisa Mangcu honours memory of late traffic officer, 29 Feb

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Lisa Mangcu will join the family, colleagues, friends and scores of mourners in traffic law enforcement to pay homage to a fallen, dedicated traffic law enforcement officer - the late Provincial Inspector Sisanda Hadi. 

Inspector Silwana graduated from the Nelson Mandela Bay Traffic College in June 2008 as a fully fledged Traffic Officer.

A memorial service for the late Inspector will be held tomorrow, Friday 29 February 2024. 

The late Inspector tragically lost her life while on duty on the afternoon of Tuesday 20 February 2024. 

She had been assigned with the duty of diverting trucks from the N2 onto the Weigh Bridge to be checked for overloading. 

It is alledged that she was busy with another truck on the left shoulder of the road when another truck traveling from East to West on the N2 bumped her and her body landed about 50 to 80 meters from the point of impact and the truck came  to a standstill some 100 to 150 meters further.

Inspector Silwana died instantly. 

The driver of the truck has been arrested  and detained at Kinkelbos SAPS with initial charges of culpable homicide and reckless or negligent driving. The investigation is ongoing.

Inspector Sisanda Hadi leaves behind her husband and three sons. 

Deputy Minister Mangcu will give words of condolences to the family, friends, the fraternity and community at large during a memorial service in remembrance of the late Inspector Hadi.
