The Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize, will on Wednesday, 7 August 2019, meet with representatives of the Bahumagadi Organisation as part of the National Women’s Day build up activities.
The Bahumagadi Organisation is comprised of the mothers and wives of Dikgosi in the North West Province. The aim of the visit is to introduce the work of the newly reconfigured Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities to the community.
The Deputy Minister hopes to develop partnerships with traditional leadership in the province to promote gender equality, and ensure the involvement of women, youth and persons with disabilities in economic development in the province.
The visit forms part of build-up activities towards National Women’s Day which will be held in Vryburg on 09 August 2019.
