Journalists are invited to a ceremony of unveiling a plaque and official opening of the pharmacy room (Jemma Pharmacy Room) at Leratong Hospice in Atteridgeville in memory of Jemma O’Sullivan. Deputy Minister Dr Gwen Ramokgopa will address the opening.
A pharmacy plays an integral part in the delivery of Health Care in any institution. Medicines have bestowed enormous health benefits on people all over the word. It has transformed the treatment and prevention of many diseases, thus the saving of many lives and greatly improving the quality of life.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of Government to ensure that medicines reaching patients are safe, effective and meet approved standards and specifications. Hence the Department of Health supports this initiative.
