Members of the media are invited to attend the above programme which takes place at the Baxter Theatre on Saturday 9 June 2018. The event takes place from 10am to 2 pm.
More than 700 young people from across the Metro and the Boland are expected to be in attendance. The programme will focus on career opportunities, youth entrepreneurship, good citizenship and identity.
More than 40 exhibitors are participating in this initiative, including banks, the aviation sector, colleges, Cape Nature, Woolworths, various Sector Education and Training entities, NSFAS, universities and Old Mutual.
Some of the partners will outline potential learnership opportunities for some of the young people.
The department has partnered with the Dr SB Radebe Foundation and other stakeholders in preparing this programme.
The youth will engage the exhibitors and there will be a programme of cultural items, short talks and the handover of smart IDs to some young people.
The Department of Home Affairs recently issued the 10th million smart ID to a young woman from Gauteng. She attended the Department’s budget speech on 16 May 2018.
