The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Mr Enver Surty, through the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI) of the Department of Basic Education will on Wednesday 25 November 2015 continue to deliver sustainable change to rural education with the official handover of Westfleur Primary School in Altantis, Cape Town.
The school, built as part of the Departments flagship ASIDI project, forms part of the this R8.2-billion programme whose mandate is the eradication of schools built from inappropriate material and to provide basic services of water, sanitation and electricity to those schools that previously had none.
With over 130 schools handed over as part of the ASIDI program, 20 of which are in the Western Cape, ASIDI continues to restore dignity to rural education.
