Deputy Minister David Mahlobo hands over groundwater harvesting systems in Limpopo, 13 Oct

Deputy Minister Mahlobo to lead the handover of groundwater harvesting systems in Limpopo.

Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister, David Mahlobo in partnership with Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA), will on Thursday, 13 October 2022, be handing over three innovative, solar-powered groundwater harvesting systems, popularly known as Cokeville Project to the community of Ga-Ramoshwane in Polokwane in the Capricorn District.

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) and CCBSA consider reliable access to good, safe water as essential to life, nature, and the health of our communities, hence it is important to support local water access projects that help bring safe, clean drinking water to communities in need.

The Cokeville Project is an initiative aimed at addressing water shortages in the country and seeks to provide water access to distressed rural communities. South Africa is a water-scarce country with water shortages being experienced in many parts of the country and more so in Limpopo.
