The Deputy Minister of Police Mr Cassel Mathale (MP) will lead the Launch of Operation Shanela in the Limpopo Province on Saturday, 19 August 2023.
Operation Shanela is the SAPS newly adopted crime combating high density operations.
Since its inception on 08 May 2023, more than 78 000 suspects have been arrested for a variety of crimes ranging from murder to rape.
The Deputy Minister will be joined by the MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms Florence Radzilani, the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Fannie Masemola, the Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe and other law enforcement officials.
