Deputy Minister Buti Manamela will visit the community of Westonaria to establish a vegetable garden as well as plant trees for the community as part of Arbor Week celebrations.
The initiative to establish a community vegetable garden by the Deputy Minister is to ensure community food security. The theme of the 2015 arbor week is Forests and People: Investing in a sustainable future”.
Thus far a total number of 760 trees have been planted for the community of Borwa.
Deputy Minister will be accompanied by Gauteng MEC for Economic Development, Mr. Maile, MEC for Health, MEC for Human Settlements, Mr. Mamabolo, the District Mayor of Westrand District Municipality Cllr Nawa and the Mayor of Westonaria Local Municipality, Cllr Tundzi.
