Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Buti Manamela will hand over a science laboratory to the Solomon Mahlangu High School in Modimolle, Limpopo. Solomon Mahlangu is one of the no fee schools in the Waterberg District in Limpopo and therefore faces challenges of resources.
The knowledge gained in classrooms is incomplete unless they are able to observe the process and understand the relationship between action and reaction.
The science lab donated by the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) will therefore assist the learners at the school in learning science in a practical manner. The lab will also ensure that the learners learn efficiently through seeing, handling, and manipulating real objects and materials.
Learners will also be provided career guidance by the NYDA to ensure that they are well informed of the career opportunities that are on offer when they complete high school.
Deputy Minister Manamela will be supported by the chairperson of the NYDA board, Mr. Yershen Pillay, Mayor of Modimolle, Cllr Kgaretja Lekalakala as well as Members of the Mayoral Committee.
Transport to Modimolle and back will be arranged for journalists
