Deputy Minister Buti Manamela to attend SASOL Foundation’s June 16 'Youth in Energy' event at Energy Observe in Cape Town

Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Honourable Buti Manamela, will deliver a keynote address, at the Youth in Energy event in commemoration of the Youth Day.

The Sasol’s “Youth in Energy” event is aimed at exposing young people to career opportunities in green technology and other science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and innovation (STEAMI) related fields.

Sasol is a proud sponsor of the first-ever African stopover of Energy Observer, the world's premier renewable energy hydrogen-powered vessel, which is docked at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. The Energy Observer’s first-ever African stopover seeks to demonstrate the organisation’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy solutions to combat climate change.

There will be activities on the day which include interactions with the Sasol Research & Technology team and a peak under the hood of the hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai.

Guests will also have an opportunity to have a personalised tour of the Energy Observer.
