Deputy Minister Manamela to address the Educate Class of 2023 National Math and Science Revision Programme in Sandton
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Mr Buti Manamela will deliver a keynote address at the eduCate National Mathematics and Science Revision Programme in Sandton on the 20 July 2023.
The eduCate is an initiative which aims at presenting a practical, realistic and scalable model of how business can help to affect the Learning Renaissance by contributing to the education of its future leaders and workforce through technical innovation, exceptional teaching and dynamic interaction.
As well as to create a young population of problem solvers who are equipped with the right skills, and fully prepare Grade 12’s for the final Mathematics and Science exams, with the focus on the identified following objectives:
- Preparing underserved South African youth for their Matric Math and Science examinations with the aim of increasing the general number of matriculants passing as well as a number of Bachelor passes
- Motivating South African youth to not only pass Math and Science but to excel in these subjects, with the long-term view of enabling access to tertiary education and economic opportunity
- Providing support as well as continued development opportunities for participating teachers
- And, providing participating learners access to some of the best educators in Math and Science as well as detailed revision material to deepen their understanding of the subjects.
