Deputy Minister Boitumelo Moloi addresses launch of Subsidy Scheme in Western Cape, 29 Nov

As part of supporting the employment of Persons with Disabilities, the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Boitumelo Moloi invites you to join her and other important stakeholders to embrace the support given to persons with disabilities (PwD).

 The Department of Employment and Labour through the Public Employment Services (PES) branch will be hosting the launch of the Subsidy Scheme for PwD for 2022-2025.

 Through the Subsidy Scheme the Department will unveil the nine workshops selected to participate in the scheme for the period 2022 to 2025. The workshops are funded in accordance with the Employment Services (ES) Act, to provide them with subsidies for providing work opportunities for vulnerable work seekers.

One of the aims of the Employment Services Act 4 of 2014 is “to provide for the establishment of schemes to promote the employment of young work seekers and other vulnerable persons”.

The event’s launch coincides with the National Disability Rights Awareness month. The day will commence with a visit to the Innovation for the Blind satellite factories, a tour of the exhibitions of other participating NGOs, and a formal procession wherein the Deputy Minister is to award certificates to the 9 identified workshop.

Also expected to address the launch will be Department of Employment and Labour Deputy Director-General of PES, Sam Morotoba.
