Deputy Minister Bheki Cele visits Aqualture Project during Imbizo Focus Week, 4 Dec

As part of the ongoing Imbizo Focus Week, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, General Bheki Cele, together with the MEC of Limpopo, Ms Joy Matshoge, will visit the Phethwane Intergrated Aquaculture Project in Sekhukhune District, Limpopo.

The Phethwane Integrated Aquaculture Project was started in 2011 by 48 crop farmers who considered using the dilapidated Boshielo Dam for fish farming. The project has huge potential, however, its progress has been hampered mainly by internal conflicts and access to markets.

The Deputy Minister and the MEC will raise awareness on aquaculture as an economic opportunity, career option, job creator and potential rural developer with emphasis on women and youth, as well as identify and resolve the challenges at the Phethwane Integrated Aquaculture Project.

Details of the imbizo:
Date: 4 December 2015
Time: 9h00
Venue: Tompi Seleka Agriculture College Sports Ground, Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality, Limpopo
